Help for Wagner family

Hello family, friends, and anyone else that has come across this. We are here to ask for help in caregiving for our beloved husband, father, brother and friend Gene Wagner.
Some of you may know and some of you may not, but Gene was diagnosed back in August of 2019 with PSP.
PSP stands for Progressive Supra-nuclear Palsy. It is a neurodegenerative disorder that has no known cure or cause. It affects brain cells that control balance, walking, eye movement, speech, swallowing and thinking. In short, it basically paralyzes the person progressively, and extremely quickly.
8 months ago when Gene received his diagnosis, no one warned us about the absolutely devastating effects this disease would have. Rita, his wife, has been doing the sole caregiving up until about a month ago when things really started to progress.
As of now we have hospice but they cannot provide the day to day care that this wonderful man needs. Caregivers are extremely costly and due to the current pandemic that is happening nursing homes are not accepting any new patients. Gene’s wife Rita is no more than 100lbs and can not physically lift or support a grown man and the lack of care is becoming a danger to both their health at this point.
We know this is a rough time to be asking for help but any little bit would be a gift to our family.
For those of you who know Gene or have had the pleasure of having any contact with him in your life, you know he is the brightest light in the room, always joking and always trying to make other people smile. He’s the most selfless, caring, kind, and loving man. He is the best father, devoted husband, and a pretty dang talented musician and drummer.
To watch this disease take everything from him and reduce him to bed, not being able to feed or do anything for himself has ripped us apart. Rita can not work due to being sole caregiver and their daughter Lauren has just lost her job due to COVID-19. Thank you to all of you who have already helped, and thank you to those of you who have taken the time to read this. You really are our angels on earth.
