Help former LCPS teacher Laura Morris

Former LCPS teacher Laura Morris resigned during public comment in front of the school board. As a very concerned parent in the LCPS school system I’d like to support Laura during her transition to a new teaching job. The starting goal of $3000 will cover 1 month salary at her 5 year step pay scale. I’m sure she will be hired quickly but this is a good start.

I’m the parent of multiple kids in LCPS and concerned that the school board agenda is driving away valuable teachers like Ms. Morris due to a focus on their political agenda, rather than education.

I’m located in Leesburg VA in Loudoun County but not in the zoning for the school Ms. Morris teaches at.

I started this campaign to ensure Ms. Morris and other teachers in LCPS know that the community supports them when they speak to the school board.  Prior to her speech at the school board meeting, I did not know her, or have any association with her, or knowledge of her intention to quit teaching at LCPS.  In other words, Ms. Morris did not suggest, collaborate with, or participate in starting the GFM campaign in any way.

***The funds from this campaign will go directly to Ms. Morris unless she directs otherwise.  Ms. Morris has indicated in media interviews that she has secured employment at a private school so it is possible that the funds donated  exceed any loss from her prior job at LCPS.  If that is the case it will be my suggestion, but not my decision, that any excess amount be used to support students and/or staff at her prior school, or her new school.  That will be her decision though.  No funds have or will be withdrawn without Ms. Morris’ consent.***
