Help former MLBer Ron LeFlore Pay Hospital Bills

Donation protected

Former Montreal Expo Ron LeFlore has dealt with some difficult health issues over the years. Ten years ago he actually had to have his right leg amputated from the knee down, and he now uses a prosthetic leg. I found out he recently had a six week stint in hospital in Florida due to really bad circulation in his left leg. Thankfully, doctors don't believe his left leg is at risk of amputation but he has to go into hospital again this week due to an infection in that leg. He has been in and out of hospital with many issues over the years.

Ron has been struggling to live off disability funds and a small MLB pension. There are upcoming expenses for his hospital stay that will not be covered by insurance.

LeFlore is my favorite all-time Expos player, as I enjoyed his daring style of play taking chances on the bases. Now that life has slowed him down, as a big fan of his, I'd like to raise some money to help support and encourage him, and help him round the bases one more time. No amount is too small. Every penny raised will be sent directly to Ron LeFlore to pay for his medical expenses.

During his MLB years, Ron LeFlore was a spark plug of energy first playing for the Detroit Tigers from 1974-79 before a one year stint in 1980 for the Montreal Expos where he stole a team record 97 bases. He rounded out his career in 1981-82 with the Chicago White Sox, amassing 455 career stolen bases. He currently lives with his wife Emily in Pinellas Park, Florida.

I have put the goal for the fundraiser at $970 CDN in honor of the Expos club record 97 stolen bases he set. Let's get all those stolen bases covered with this fundraiser! Each $10 donation covers one of those 97 SBs. Of course donations in higher amounts will always be welcomed as well.
