Help Foster Kitten Hazel Keep Her Eyesight
Donation protected
Hello everyone! I am someone who does independent animal rescue out of Raleigh, North Carolina. I take in animals, generally special needs animals from high-kill shelters across NC, put them into foster homes, provide and pay for all the vet care, and adopt them out to forever homes.
In late 2022, I took in a small, orphaned kitten who was turned into a local shelter with one of her eyes so badly injured that it needed to be removed. The shelter worked with a vet who removed her one eye and she has since learned to walk, use a litter box, and how to jump and more again with just one eye.
Unfortunately, her remaining good eye with vision has quickly been turning white. She was taken to two great local vets and the problem was diagnosed that she has a cataract developing rapidly in her remaining eye. Cataracts are usually a hereditary problem she was born with, that will cause her to go blind in her one remaining eye without surgery.
This surgery is going to cost at least $2,125 and is scheduled for Tuesday, April 25th. She also has re-checks that will cost at least an additional $600 post surgery.
Please help Hazel retain vision in her one remaining eye by donating or spreading the fundraiser. Photos of Hazel and a copy of her predicted vet bill is attached. Hazel is still a foster kitten in foster care and needs this vet care quickly to retain any hope of any vision as well as before she can be adopted out to a home. Thank you so much!
