Help Found The Vulpes Fox Rescue & Art Studio
For decades, Wesley Kimler has been a cultural force in Chicago, both for his substantial paintings and for his magical studio spaces that have been home to pivotal events, raves, happenings, and performances. One of the residents of the studios was Vulpes, the most beloved of Kimlers' pet foxes.
Vulpes recently passed away from neurological complications, and in his honor the Kimlers' have decided to expand the painting studio into a fox refuge as well, moving to the Michigan woods and establishing a home for many more like Vulpes.
The loss of Vulpes was devastating for the family, and a location suitable for the fox refuge doesn't come cheap, so we've established this Gofundme to help raise some of the initial costs for moving the studio and establishing the refuge. We're trying to get the needed funds together within the next few weeks.
All donations are deeply appreciated, and those who are able to donate over a certain level will be in turn gifted original paintings from Wesley Kimler himself.
Vulpes the fox:
"Amina asked me one day if she could have a fox - I said no. But I thought about it and roughly a year later we took a trip to Indiana and met Vulpes. Thus began for us both this love story, Amina’s best childhood friend and one of the things I’ve loved most in my life. We are both completely devastated that he’s gone. He haunted my studio where he grew up, in the shadows and racing and leaping on to his trampoline…. He was like a comet blazing through our lives. He was magical. We both will always carry him in our hearts until we can see him again." - Wesley Kimler
"Now, the studio filled with 20 years of work, events, where Amina grew up, Vulpes prowled is no more. But we want to build another, names for Vulpes- a painting studio/ fox rescue in the north woods of Michigan. We could use some help getting there. Hence, our go fund me."
