Help Four Paws Overcome Financial Setbacks

As many of you know, Four Paws has experienced continual issues with the underwater treadmill we purchased from Hudson Aquatics 5 years ago. The underwater treadmill is the main tool we use to treat our patients from post-surgical recovery to older friends suffering with arthritic conditions to many other physical challenges. These are expensive pieces of equipment and given the cost of these machines, they are expected to last at least 15 years. Unfortunately, the machine we purchased from Hudson broke down multiple times in the 5 years we owned it. Just this year alone, it broke down twice for the same repeating problem. It was out of commission for 3 months this year. When the treadmill is broken down, we are at the mercy of the company to schedule the repairs in their time frame. This costs us income each time as well as the expense to pay for the repairs. Due to these expenses, we had to take multiple loans to cover our overhead and stay afloat. The month we paid off the machine this year, we had to get rid of it and take out a loan to purchase a new treadmill.

Being such a small (yet mighty!) business, all the debt we took on has set us back to the point where we are grappling with difficult decisions about the future of Four Paws and our ability to continue.

Given that our financial hardships aren’t due to a lack of business support, but a financial setback, we are humbly reaching out to our beloved community for assistance.

We understand how hard everyone is being hit by the current economy and realize there are many other important causes to donate money to. Asking for help was an incredibly difficult decision for us to make and we put it off until we could find no other options.

We deeply wish to continue to serve our clients and patients for years to come.
