Help Fr Maximos and the Brotherhood

Archimandrite Maximos and the Brotherhood  have moved into their new home.  The monks are ever so grateful to your generosity today and to all the help in making the move a successful one.  WE pray for all of our generous benefactors.

As with any old house there are things that need fixing, some expected and some not so expected.   

One of the large AC units died during the recent heat wave and the brothers are scrambling to get the necessary funds  needed to fix the unit.  With all the high heat, high haze and high humidity in our area, the second unit is having to work overtime.  Current estimates are that it will cost a small bundle to fix the broken unit.

Additionally, one of the upstairs bathrooms has apparently been leaking for some time and has caused considerable damage to the floor support system.  The repair of this damage will cost several thousands of dollars.
Monies that we currently do not have.  Monies that we need to raise as we can.

We again appeal to our benefactors for any help that you could give us with these expenses.

The Brotherhood has begun moving in and over the next few weeks  things will be in constant motion.  Please help the monks cover the moving expenses and other various costs encountered with every move.

The light is brighter at the end of the tunnel and we are quickly approaching our move to our new residence.   It's been a long road  and with God's blessings we are finally nearing our goal.

Now comes the pard part of packing up our belongings and settling into our new place.  

We appreciate the help already donated and hope we can raise a bit more to cover the cost of moving into the new location.

We are but a few steps from moving to our new location.  It's been a long process of paperwork and more paperwork  and raising the necessary funds.  

As we look around and consider what we will have to move and possibly store for a time... it all becomes daunting.  As anyone who has ever moved a family knows ... moving is a bit traumatic.  We still very much need your help to cover the cost of moving the heavy things.... like our bells, our candle work shop, our wood working work shop, Fr Silouan's iconography studio and so on.  

Any help you can send us will be gratefully acknowledged and appreciated.  Know that you are ever in our prayers.

A fasting challenge to all ....
For some the Dormition Fast has begun, for others  it is around the corner!  Many Consider August to belong to the Theotokos.  So here is a challenge to all...  in the name of the Theotokos consider donating to the monastery... it does not have to be much.
 
Consider.... The change collected from your pocket by the end of the week.    The price of one foregone cup of coffee. The cost of that non-fasting deli sandwich or slice of pizza.   Every little bit helps!  

Children can help too.... set up a lemonade stand at church. Organize a bake sale. Let the children do the vending.

Donations can be sent directly to the monks if you do not wish to do it here.

The Brotherhood is preceeding cautiously with their plans for the move to our new location.  The number of details to be seen to is staggering and prayer and wisdom are hugely necessary.

Life at the monastery continues .... we have had two baptisms  and a new catechumen.   Our ministry continues, both in the world and online.

Recently Archimandrite Maximos (Weimar) of the Brotherhood of the Holy Cross announced that the Brotherhood will be leaving to establish the Brotherhood of St Dionysios the Areopagite. The Brotherhood decided that they want to stay within ROCOR, under the omophorion of Metropolitan Hilarion. Unfortunately, under these circumstances, a change of residence is necessary.

Archimandrite Maximos and the Brotherhood are currently in negotiation for a new location, and hope to announce their new location soon.

The Brotherhood is excited about the prospects of this move as it opens possibilities and opportunities for growth - both for the monastery and for it's parish. The monks see a great need for expansion in both the monastic calling and for the parish.  Archimandrite Maximos feels that there are many people on the East end of our Island (of various ethnicities) who will benefit from this move. The Brotherhood's relocation to a larger property will greatly help in this regard.  Our beloved archpastor, Metropolitan Hilarion has given his blessing to the efforts of the Brotherhood.

However, as with any such endeavor, the Brotherhood needs help to fund this move. To start, they need to fund the move to their new location. Then, a new church will need to be built so that they may contine servicing the needs of their parish.

The Brotherhood requests your help. Please donate to help this worthy endeavor, it matters not the amount, anything will help to bring about this endeavor.
