Help Francis Caron on His Road to Recovery

Dear Friends, Family, and Kind-hearted Strangers,

I’m reaching out to you on behalf of my best friend, Francis Caron, who recently suffered a severe and life altering accident while engaged in his passion of woodworking, resulting in the full severing of part of his hand. This devastating incident has added another layer of difficulty to his life, already marked by constant pain and reduced mobility from a spinal cord injury he sustained nearly a decade ago.

Francis is an extraordinary person. Despite his challenges, he’s always the first to offer help to others. His resilience and generosity have touched many lives, and now he needs our support to navigate this new hardship.

Since the accident last Tuesday, Francis has undergone three emergency trauma surgeries. Although things may not look the brightest, his medical team continues to explore every option possible. The doctors indicate that he may need another 4-6 weeks in the hospital. He is still under regular sedation and pain management, with a constant flow of medical staff attending to him.

Francis appreciates your prayers and well wishes, but please note that he is not ready for visits, nor does he have the strength or ability to answer calls or texts currently. Please pass your well wishes through Patti or myself.

Francis faces a long and painful recovery. He will also need to adapt to this further disability, making everyday tasks even more challenging. He is deeply saddened that he will no longer be able to pursue his passion for woodworking. He is trying to face the upcoming challenges with his habitual upbeat attitude but is concerned that he will now be contributing even less to the household.

The primary goal of this campaign is to raise funds to assist with Francis’s recovery and rehabilitation. This includes uncovered medical expenses, specialized therapies, and adaptive equipment to help him regain as much function and independence as possible.

An important part of Francis’s recovery is having his wife Patti by his side. Patti, who is self-employed, is doing her best to rearrange her working schedule to be present for her husband. Taking time off to care for Francis will impact their household finances. While neither Patti nor Francis would think to ask for help, we know that the best chance for his recovery is for them both to focus on his care and recovery.

Any funds raised will help ensure she can be there for Francis without the added stress of financial strain.
