Help Fred Robinette with his Medical Crisis
Donation protected
Our dear friend Fred Robinette has been struggling with medical issues for the past year. Fred is the father of two teenagers and works as the managing optician for LensCrafters at Macy’s at the Polaris mall. He is a wonderful person and a devoted friend. I am asking you to please contribute what you can to help him through
these difficult times.
Fred’s health problems started when he contracted COVID-19 in July 2020. He was off work for several weeks, and had problems with fatigue for several months after. This May, he developed a ruptured hematoma in his abdomen, as well as uncontrolled high blood pressure. His doctor put him on bed rest for ten weeks. During that time he unfortunately suffered a small stroke which affected the use of his left side.
Fred was eventually cleared to return to short work shifts, however he had difficulty just walking from his car into the store. His coworkers were alarmed at how weak he seemed. Even a four hour shift proved exhausting for him. He was unable to eat solid food because of a constricted esophagus. The lack of proper nourishment contributed to his fatigue.
On September 3rd, Fred was back in the ER with suspected liver failure. Scans revealed he has 50-60% function of his liver. The doctors believe the liver damage was caused by COVID-19. It was also discovered that his potassium levels were almost non-existent. This led to episodes of tachycardia (increased heart rate). Unfortunately the tachycardia remained unmanageable, despite his potassium levels returning to normal. His heart rate was skyrocketing whenever he stood up. The doctors have finally been able to control the tachycardia after a blood transfusion and new medications. He was released from the hospital and transferred to a skilled nursing facility where he will receive extensive physical therapy.
Fred’s bills are piling up and he has missed at least three months of work so far. We humbly ask you to donate whatever you can to help Fred. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.
