Help Freddy Rivas Get Back On His Good Foot
Donation protected
Earlier this year, Freddy was hard at work, determined to finish up a job, pushing through the pain from what he thought was just a small blister on his foot. Unfortunately, because diabetes had taken a toll on his circulation, that small blister quickly grew out of control and his entire foot soon had to be amputated above the ankle. Being a private contractor, Freddy did not have adequate medical insurance that would help him beyond the amputation into the rehab and recovery stage. All of this means that he has not worked since just before losing his limb in August. He has begun the process of receiving help from a nonprofit organization that will pay to get him fitted with a prosthetic and rehabilitation to re-learn how to walk, but, until that happens, he is unable to work and is struggling to provide for his most basic living expenses. Having experienced a traumatic and permanent injury many years ago and the hardships that come with it, I would very much like to help Freddy in any way that I can, and hope that others will, as well. I know that times are hard for everyone right now, but even the smallest amount will be appreciated. If you can’t help financially, please help by sharing widely on all social media platforms and by sending good vibes and/or prayers his way.
P.S. –
We are hoping for enough additional proceeds to buy an authentic-looking pirate costume for Halloween next year, peg-leg included. Just kidding…your help is seriously VERY MUCH appreciated!
