Help free Wan Cai !

Hello, thank you so much for being here. This is my brother, Wan Cai. His full name is Muhammad Ridhwan Bin Juibrahim and he was born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. I met Wan while I was traveling in SE Asia and he was working in the hostel industry. I quickly learned what a kind and generous soul he is, as well as the immense challenges he faces everyday. With little in place to protect human rights, many people end up being taken advantage of here, forced to work long hours for little pay. Wan Cai's goal is just to survive. The country of Malaysia closed its boarders March 18th of 2020 and has still not re-opened. The economy in Lankawi, the island where Wan lives, is fully funded from tourism. With the boarder closed, the locals living on this island have had zero opportunity to make money for food or housing in over a year with zero help from their government. Because of this, people here are starving and homeless and searching for any way to provide for themselves and their families. In Malaysia, cannabis is very popular and very illegal. The penalty for selling cannabis in Malaysia is death by hanging. Wan Cai was recently arrested on 7/21/21 for the possession of cannabis. He was looking for a solution that could provide him with money for food and housing more sustainably because he felt guilty asking others to help him. Wan Cai has been in prison on the island for the past 5 days (Malaysia is 13+ hours ahead of Colorado) and the Bukit Aman Police are requesting money in exchange for Wan Cais safe release. They have requested 5,000 RM Malaysian Ringgit before Monday 7/26/21 to free Wan Cai. This is equivalent to $1,183.01 USD United States Dollars. Once we pay his bail (bribe) then he will be sent to trial. We then have to wait for the judge to make his decision and see if he requests more money for Wans release or if he will be given a penalty. Wan Cai would give his last bit of rice or the shirt off his back to help his friends and family. I owe it to Wan to do everything I can to save him. If you can and are willing to donate to help free this sweet soul, it would absolutely change his life and so many others! I know we will raise enough in time to save him and find a long term solution to provide resources to people who are still struggling with COVID-19. Thank you so much for caring about Wan Cai <3
