Help Friedel recover from necrotising fasciitis

My wife Friedel recently contracted a rare form of Streptococcus A that mutated into necrotizing fasciitis (also known as the flesh-eating bug). Within 48 hours of feeling ill, she was semi-conscious and admitted to the local Accident and Emergency unit from where she was immediately transferred to a teaching hospital for emergency surgery. The only known cure is to remove infected tissue and she spent the next week in Intensive Care in a medically induced coma whilst undergoing daily surgery. When she came to the doctor and I then had to explain that whilst they thought they had stopped the bacteria they had removed so much tissue that reconstructive surgery was not an option and now they would have to amputate her left leg. This was done below the knee at the start of the third week in ICU, but all the following week the doctors struggled to control a further infection and by Thursday a decision was made to amputate further, just above the knee. Finally, the infection was under control, and Friedel moved out of ICU into a normal ward to start a 3-4 month rehabilitation period.

Whilst Friedel is an incredibly tough and resilient person who will master the intricacies of learning to walk with a prosthetic limb I'd like to ease her journey with a few luxuries along the way such as wellness gifts, spa treatments, some new clothes, toiletries or anything else people can think of that would give rise to a smile. JJ (our 8-year-old son) and myself just want to provide the moral and physical support we can but if we can add some special gifts too then it should be that little bit extra special.
