Help fuel my path in nursing school!

UPDATE: Hey everyone, I raised more money than what I had originally asked for and I’m so grateful. Though, I just found out my financial aid was cut in half so for the upcoming fall quarter, I still owe, $3,453, with payment plans being around a little over $1,000 each split in 3 ways. I’m putting my pride aside and asking that y’all share this please even more so now with the increased goal limit. Thank you so much for everything.

Hi everyone,

My name is Marcus, and I’m reaching out for your support to help me stay on the path to becoming a nurse. At 27, I finally found my true calling. After working in various jobs from amusement parks to restaurants and dog kennels, I discovered my passion while working at the hospital. I’ve fallen in love with patient care and know that nursing is the career I’m meant to pursue.

Despite the joy and fulfillment I’ve found in nursing, I’m facing a significant financial challenge because my financial aid amount has substantially decreased for the next year of school. I need to raise $1,000 to cover my tuition for the Fall Quarter that begins in July, and I need your help to continue my education. This will be the start of my actual nursing classes and I am so pumped! Nursing school is demanding, especially in a fast-track program that compresses a semester’s worth of classes into a single quarter. Balancing work and school has been incredibly tough, particularly since I live independently and manage all my bills on my own.

My mother has been an incredible support, helping me in countless ways, but the burden is heavy. I’m nearing the end of my fourth quarter, and it feels like I’ve completed two years of school in one. Despite the late nights, tears, and frustration, I’ve managed to maintain great grades, making the Dean’s List two times. Each quarter’s success is a testament to my hard work and determination.

Currently, I work as a tech on the cardiac progressive care unit, and my first goal upon graduating is to continue on this unit. I want to deepen my knowledge and do even more for the patients I’ve come to know and love. Achieving this goal is not just important for me—it’s a dream I share with my mom. I’ll be the first in my immediate family to graduate college, and I want her to see that happen.
