Help Fuel The Sardine Dream!

Hello friends and family! In just a few short weeks, a group of dear friends from the San Francisco Bay Area are entering a "human-powered sculpture race" known as the Kinetic Grand Championship , and we'd like to ask for your support!

Since 1969, the Kinetic Grand Championship in Humboldt County, California has been putting bodies of art and artist's bodies to the ultimate test! This three-day, 50-mile human powered sculpture race covers both land and sea. Judged on artistry, engineering, pageantry (... and speed), this is no ordinary contest.

"The Sardine Dream " will be making our debut at the 2024 Championship. A group of friends from across the country, “The Dream” takes its name from our shared love: sea-dwelling, oiled-up, protein-packed delights of all kinds. Every aspect of our team pays homage to the beauty of tinned fish. From our sculpture, “The Tin” — a six-person surrey bike wrapped in a human-sized sardine tin — to our all silver costumes and three foot tall fish-head hats.

We are seeking supporters who would love contributing this admittedly-silly form of artistic expression. Total cost is estimated around $3,000, the overwhelming majority of that going to the surrey bike, materials, and equipment to build and transport the sculpture.
