Help Fulfill Gary's Legacy: Support IVF for his Family
Donation protected
Hi all,
As most of you know, my late Husband Gary and I were trying to start a family of our own for the last 3 and a half years before he passed away in June. At the very beginning, we were told that it would be difficult to conceive naturally due to the both of us having infertility issues. So we turned to fertility treatments and fortunately a miracle happened; we were blessed with a successful pregnancy through IUI in April 2023 after experiencing a chemical pregnancy the month prior. Everything seemed to finally fall into place until we tragically lost the pregnancy through a “missed” miscarriage at 6 and a half weeks. We were completely heartbroken and all hope seemed lost until almost a year later we became recipients of a fertility grant that awarded us the money to afford IVF. After many bumps along the way, the road to parenthood was attainable again.
Sadly, we never got to start the medical part to our first IVF cycle because we were in the beginning stages right before Gary passed away. Without any hesitation, I knew that I still wanted to pursue our dream of having a child and carry on Gary’s legacy because of the kind of person he was ( and still is). Everyone who knew Gary could easily see how much he loved each child whose life he was apart of and treated them as if they were his own. Gary was amazing around them and did not hesitate to be a big kid since he had such a fun and bright personality. It was obvious that he was going to be an incredible Dad one day.
That being said, the time for me to restart my first IVF cycle is running out because it will be almost a year since the charity awarded us the grant money and were kind enough to allow me to keep it for this long. Given the short time line, I am unable to come up with the funds that were already put towards expenses like my fertility medication and the preservation of his sperm that is currently being stored through my fertility clinic. My insurance and most insurances in general do not cover fertility treatments sadly and consider it a “luxury” rather than helping thousands of couples and individuals who end up struggling when it comes to starting a family. So I am kindly asking for any sort of help that will go towards making this dream a reality, and most importantly giving this gift to Gary despite him no longer being here.
Myself and both of our families greatly appreciate the time that you all took to read this and any sort of support you can please give. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
