Story: On July 24th, 2024, our lives were shattered by the sudden loss of our mother, Maria Luz Mendoza Hann, to a devastating stroke. She was the cornerstone of our family, a selfless and loving mother who never stopped working to provide and protect her family. It is now our turn to try and provide for her the one final wish she had, which was to be laid to rest next to her beloved mother in the Philippines, where she spent her formative years, and to provide for her the services she deserves.

About Luz: Maria, who went by Luz to those closest to her, was a vibrant and beautiful person. She loved her career as an employee of Delta Air Lines, loved to travel, work alongside her son, Patrick (in the airlines), and spend time with her family and two other children, Princess and Paolo.

She fought a long and difficult battle in her short years of life, with health concerns and conditions that ultimately ended up taking her from us. She fiercely loved her family and children and did all she could to care for others and show resilience, determination and love everywhere she went.

The Financial Challenge: Navigating the aftermath of her sudden passing is not just emotionally daunting but financially overwhelming. The cost of transporting our mothers remains to the Philippines is substantial and beyond our immediate means alongside the costs that are piling up for the funeral and additional financial burdens from her passing are just becoming too much. The logistics involved in international repatriation are complex and add to our family’s burden during this already heartbreaking time. Anything anyone is willing or able to contribute is deeply appreciated and will not be forgotten.
