Help fulfill Mark’s wish for hospice care

Hello all,

We are sad to share, that after three years, our great friend Mark Bernetich is losing his battle with stage 4 lung cancer. Mark met the challenge of this diagnosis with his usual spirit and made it clear that he did not want cancer to define his life or who he was.

Those of you that know Mark, know that he brings a bright light to any situation, with his irreverent sense of humor and upbeat attitude. He has maintained these wonderful traits even through his most difficult days. If you’ve crossed his path, he undoubtedly touched you and made you laugh.

Those that are close to him know that he found his life partner in Megan. They met when in culinary school together and reunited many years later. Megan has been quoted as saying that “We are a perfect fit and compliment each other so well .”

Not only is Mark a great husband, but a father to three daughters who are now young women.

If you’re acquainted with Mark, hopefully you were privileged to have experienced his talent and great passion, cooking. He is a man of many great culinary creations, which took him all over the world. He generously has shared this talent at many events and fund raisers….and one on one coaching in the kitchens of his friends and family.

Now his world is much smaller. Mark’s wish is to spend his last days at home with Megan, eventually transitioning to the Pete Moore Hospice House when that time arrives. These funds will be used to help cover the cost of his stay and a portion of any remaining bills that remain from his long fight.
