On January 5, 2025, we lost a legend, a hero, an advocate, and a true friend: Mike Rinder.

Mike Rinder was, for years, a senior executive in Scientology, working closely with David Miscavige (while regularly facing his wrath and abuse).

After he escaped from Scientology in 2007, Mike dedicated the rest of his life to exposing Scientology’s abuses. He was tireless in his efforts to battle Scientology and David Miscavige. You may know him from the series he co-hosted with Leah Remini on A&E.

Mike’s advocacy came at a steep price—he faced relentless harassment and attacks by Scientology and their private investigators. Even his family members who are still Scientologists filmed videos attacking him.

Despite this high price, Mike never stopped fighting for the truth to be exposed.

One of Mike’s final wishes was for people to consider donating to a college fund for his 12-year-old son, Jack, in lieu of flowers.

As a Sea Org member, Mike didn’t earn more than $50 a week until he escaped when he was 52 years old, and for the past two years, he has been undergoing rigorous and debilitating cancer treatments.

We have set up this GoFundMe to help fulfill Mike’s wish. All funds will go directly to Jack’s college fund, as Mike requested.
