Help Fund a Future Pilot

Hey everyone,

My name is Yanees Celestina Muhammad, I am excited to be graduating from the Academies at South Mountain High School May 21st 2024. I will be receiving my high school diploma. Also I have successfully completed the Aerospace Pathway at South Mountain High-School, passed the Federal Aviation Administration’s Private Pilot written examination and obtained my private pilot license. Just to tell you a little about myself during my time at South Mountain High School I was the JROTC Company Commander, ran Varsity track for 3 years, Varsity Cheer Captain, President of the Black Student Union, National Honors Society and maintained Honor Roll while accomplishing these activities. I also volunteered at Feed My Starving Children and the Hospice of The Valley. As a high schooler, I woke up at 5am 4 days a week to fly before school and I completed my first solo flight on April 17th, 2024 flying completely by myself.

In the fall I will be attending Texas Southern University to obtain my Bachelors Degree in Aviation Science Technology Management (Professional Pilot). My career goal is to be an Emergency Medical Services helicopter pilot, transporting patients who need to be airlifted to hospitals. After that, my plan is to be a commercial pilot. Pursuing this career path is important to me, because only 1% of pilots are black women, and only 6% of pilots are women. I want to make an impact on young people and my community to show them that they can achieve anything they DREAM.

The Aviation Science and Technology (Aviation Science Management Concentration), Bachelor of Science is expensive and outside of college tuition financial aid does not cover my flight time and I will have to pay $5,000 per semester which adds up to $40,000 total for my Aviation program.

Furthering my education in Aviation Science and Technology is a dream of mine and your contributions, no matter the amount, I will be extremely grateful and it will make a real difference in helping me achieve my dreams.Thank you so much for considering supporting me in my journey!
