Help fund Adam and Matty's Final Northwest Passage Film
Donation protected
Hi there! We are Adam and Matty, outdoor filmmakers and adventurers focused on exploring the last great wildernesses on our planet.
In 2023, we attempted to be the first individuals to row the Northwest Passage in one season. We embarked on the journey in homemade rowboats and produced a feature-length film for PBS entitled “Passage.” Injury and equipment failure kept us from our goal, but we were still able to row further than anyone previously, and in 2025 we are going back to get it done!
When we embarked last year on our journey, we had almost no coastal rowing experience. We were figuring it out as we went along. About 300 miles into the expedition, I tore a ligament in my shoulder. I managed to suffer through rowing the remaining 150 miles to the nearest village and ended my attempt there. Matty bravely continued solo for over 1,000 miles before equipment failure and worsening weather ended his journey about 3/4 of the way across.
Our journey was documented and produced into the feature film, "Passage," by Arkansas PBS. If you would like to watch the first film, you can check it out HERE.
We want to make another film of our return and complete the story that we began in 2022. If you'd like to see how this story ends, please contribute to our GoFundMe so that we can buy new camera equipment and supplies for this epic undertaking.
