"The movement to address climate change is about something deeper than justice, it's about solidarity. Human solidarity." -- Bill McKibben
People all over the world are bearing witness to the destruction and pain that climate change is already causing. We are rising up to dismantle the systems that threaten our communities and endanger our futures, because we know that solidarity is made real through action.
Join us for 10 days in March, for the Appalachian Climate Action Camp. From the 6th through the 15th, we will be learning, training, and putting those skills to use by taking direct action to disrupt the systems that are destroying our climate.
We come together to build on Appalachia's rich history of direct action against extractive industries, which has included tree sits, blockades, and walk-ons to resist mountaintop removal, fracking, and fossil fuel pipelines. After fighting the Mountain Valley Pipeline for over two years, we are coordinating this camp with the aim of growing the resistance to fossil fuel exploitation and taking power out of the hands of corporations and politicians that are threatening our collective future. If you can be there and fight alongside us, find us on facebook and register on our jotform. If you can't be there, you can still help create the human solidarity we need to create the future by spreading the word and donating!
Your donations are critical to making this vision a reality! We need funds to pay for the space, to cover the cost of materials and infrastructure, to feed everyone, to help us build beautiful art to spread our message, and more!
This project is entirely volunteer run (by local community members, many of whom are directly impacted by extractive industry), so we are relying on community and grassroots funds to help us grow the movement. Any amount you donate will go towards building out the people's capacity for direct action-- no overhead, no waste.

You may have noticed that the money in this fundraiser is going to a group called Future Economy Collective. This group is the fiscal sponsor, (meaning they are handling the banking for this project) at no additional cost, so 100% of your donation (after gofundme takes a small cut) is going straight to ACAC! In addition, FEC is a 501c-3 non-profit, so your donation qualifies as tax-deductible!
More information about FEC: The Future Economy Collective is a nonprofit in Blacksburg, Virginia building a collaborative environment for liberation-oriented work in the New River Valley area. If you're interested in contributing to FEC to help make this community-led, community-accountable space a reality, head over to our fundraising link !
