End fistula in Liberia.
That is our goal. Dignity: Liberia is a ministry dedicated to bringing restoration and hope to women with fistula and their communities through healing, education, and prevention.
One of our dreams has always been to combat obstetric fistula at its source. One of the best ways to do that is to provide maternal care by medically trained caregivers to expecting Liberian women in rural areas.
Following our ground-breaking ceremony attended by many honored guests, we began construction on House of Hope and Dignity in October 2021.
Today, Dignity: Liberia’s maternity waiting home, House of Hope and Dignity, is ready for patients! Pregnant women will be able to get prenatal checkups by a medically trained midwife and stay in the home for the final week or two of their pregnancy.
But the home’s doors can’t open yet. We need to have an ambulance to transport patients to a clinic, in case there are any problems during the expectant mother’s delivery. Until they open,
women in the area will continue to deliver in their villages without the care of a medical professional. Too often such deliveries result in a stillborn birth and a birthing injury called obstetric fistula, which results in incontinence for the victim.
After searching for almost a year, Dignity: Liberia has located an ambulance for sale in Liberia! Our mechanic has looked it over and determined it is in good condition. We need $20,000 for its purchase.
Two gifts of $9,110 and two gifts of $911 would surpass our goal! Perhaps you can donate $91.10 or $9.11. What part of that $20,000 can you supply?
Any amount will help Dignity: Liberia open the doors of House of Hope and Dignity and reduce the incidence of obstetric fistula in Liberia. Every day we delay is another day that women suffer needlessly.
