Many of you know Jake's story. For those who don’t here is a quick recap.
Back in 2018 Jake was hit by a car at high speed while riding his motorcycle. The crash was not his fault, but Jake was the one who suffered life threatening injuries which are still an ongoing issue for his health. On the back end of the recovery from this, just as he was getting his life back in order Jake was suddenly diagnosed with laryngeal cancer.
For those of you who knows Jake, you know that he is extremely health conscious young man. He loves eating well, being active and taking care of himself, adding to how shocking this news was for all of us. Jake is the youngest case of laryngeal cancer that his doctors have ever seen, as a non-heavy smoker, his cancer is an anomaly usually seen in people at least 30 years older than Jake who have been heavy smokers their entire lives.
The tumours have been growing directly on his vocal cords causing pain and making it difficult to talk. Jake underwent surgery to have the tumours burnt out Feb 2020. The surgery drastically effected his voice. This treatment alone should have been the end of it, however nearly 6 months on, Jake and our family were recently informed that this surgery was unsuccessful, and that the cancer has grown back. This means further and more intense treatment is required to fight the cancer.
According to Dr’s, the next step for Jake is radiotherapy, which will hopefully completely eliminate the cancerous cells. If this fails and the cancer grows back again they would be forced to perform major surgery. A complete remove his vocal cords. Also known as a laryngectomy . Meaning the patient no longer has the ability to talk. This is Jakes greatest fear.
Although this modern medicine approach definitely has its place, we feel it is also essential to address deeper issues which allowed this disease to grow in the first place. Along with Radiotherapy Jake has plans to take on a number of other targeted treatments to fight this disease at its source. We believe that it is vital for Jake’s health to take a holistic approach which encompasses the mental, emotional, physical and spiritual aspects of his healing, that can be done in conjunction with the radiotherapy. In this way, he hopes to turn his body into a cancer fighting machine to help stop this from progressing further.
There are many modalities we are looking into pursuing, many of which have considerable price-tag attached. These include but are not limited to, meeting with other Dr's, potent herbs, remedies, medications, replacing the water system at home, a long term organic juice and tincture detox, intravenous vitamin infusions, healing retreats and more.

Not once have we ever stopped to ask anyone for help. It’s an awkward thing for anyone to go through let alone someone as young and self-motivated as Jake. So far he and his mother have used their own savings to fund any of the associated expenses which are not covered by the government. We have done some calculations and to pursue most of the other treatments puts us in an extremely difficult position financially. That is why I Holly (Jakes partner) have set up this account to help support his recovery.
Our world has been turned upside down more times than we can count at this point. Any assistance you can give towards Jakes healing journey would mean the world. We are doing ok and we are all confident that Jake WILL beat this. I'll endeavour to keep you all updated as the situation progresses.
Thank you in advanced for any contribution you can make. Also wether you donate or not - please please please share this page to your social pages to help spread the word!
