Help Fund my Daughter's Recovery and New Life

Donation protected
My name is Marilyn. I am a mother and am asking for your help so my precious only daughter Jessica can overcome her addiction to alcohol that is destroying and threatening her life.

Now 41, Jessica has been an alcoholic since her early twenties. It has been horrifying and heartbreaking to watch her beautiful spirit be crushed under the disease of alcoholism. Those who have met Jess know what a kind and loving woman she is. Her addiction to alcohol has slowly but fiercely stolen her beautiful, joyful spirit.

It has been doubly devastating to me because she’s my only child, whom I love dearly. As a recovering alcoholic who has been sober for 30 years, I know first hand how cunning, powerful and demoralizing it is to be in the clutches of alcohol and addiction. Alcoholism has run through my family for generations. Alcoholism is a disease, those who do not seek recovery will die from alcoholism and I deeply fear this fate for my beloved daughter.

In early March, Jessica called me in desperation pleading for help. I knew she had finally hit bottom. She was broken, demoralized and humbled by the effect alcohol had taken on her life. She was at a breaking point. She knew she needed treatment, and she knew there was no other option, short of death.

I am her life boat. I told her I would do whatever it takes to help her. Four days later we were able to get her into treatment. Jess has completed detox and is now getting the support and treatments she needs to turn her life around.

Here's where I need your help: A good inpatient residential treatment program is very costly (approximately $20,000 for every 30 days). The longer she stays, the better her chances for a good outcome. Jess’s current insurance policy does not cover this type of treatment facility.

This is a matter of life or death for Jessica, and I'm not about to let the cost prevent me from helping my daughter. My work as a care provider for elderly and disabled clients takes care of me financially. My income, however, is limited, and does not allow me to help finance Jess’s residential treatment.

I need your support to cover the cost of her treatment and various expenses she will incur while getting back on her feet. Your support will ensure Jessica gets the help she desperately needs.

Jess is committed to her recovery for the first time in 20 years. She is already demonstrating enthusiasm, motivation, compliance, and improved health.

I have waited faithfully for this moment, fearing that she might die before it arrived. I practiced detachment, continued to love, and have remained available to my cherished daughter. I never let go of Jessica’s hand and I never will.

I ask that you join hands with me. Your support will help ensure that Jess gets her life and her beautiful spirit back.

I thank you in advance for your generous support and kindness.
