My name is Sarai Bailey. On July 27th, 2023, me and my 15-year-old brother watched our brother Josiah Chambers (known to friends and family as Josh) be killed by his longterm girlfriend. It was their daughter's third birthday
Josh was an extremely happy guy. He liked games, music, and building. He was a great dad and spent all the time with his daughter that he could. Because of him, she was potty trained at age 2 and is already well-spoken. He did the best he could to ensure that she would have a successful future. Like me, my brother was autistic and our personalities were very similar and my mom would say that I was the 'girl version of Josh'. We would have family game nights and I remember staying up until 2am because neither of us wanted to forfeit a game of monopoly.
Like I said before, Yarah was potty trained when she was 2 years old and is very well-spoken. She's great at setting boundaries and knows what she wants and how to ask for it. She likes the Powerpuff Girls, Minnie Mouse, and Badanamu.
We, the family, ask for any support you can provide, as funerals cost at least 10 thousand dollars and we cannot afford that amount. Anything helps, any money raised above necessary funeral costs will go toward raising his daughter and giving her the best future possible. Children grow fast and we will use any leftover funds for diapers, clothes, school, and future savings.
With Josh's diagnoses of Autism and ADHD, along with any potential trauma from his death, we want to make sure that Yarah will be able to receive treatment and therapy in the future, so extra funds will also go toward that.
