Help Fund Kaitlyn's Thesis Project: "Entopic"
Donation protected
“Entopic” is a multimedia venture, designed to depict entopic phenomena through the use of metaphor and commentary on pain and time. This project fuses dance and photography with a scientific exploration of phosphenes to bring the stars in our eyes to life. A dancer, adorned in an array of colors, symbolizes phosphenes evoked via internal stimuli, while this play on light, shadow, and color is captured via extended exposure techniques.
This project will be displayed as a visual and immersive performance-based experience. It is designed to resonate with the experiences of those afflicted by migraines and other visual disorders, creating a bridge between observer and sensation. The imagery breathes life into the intangible, conjuring emotions akin to what one might feel when experiencing phosphenes or other entopic phenomena. All funding contributed towards this project will go towards the production and printing costs for final images displayed in the installation. This project display will take place Fall of 2024.

A word from the director:
My artistic journey centers on studio portraiture, with a particular focus on fashion and editorial settings. The studio environment is where I thrive, relishing the complete control it affords me to craft new and captivating visuals. With this body of work I am exploring the conventional set up of studio photography, and how I can manipulate it to create a new set of visuals. Throughout this project and all my work is a commitment to continuous learning and this process so far has been full of opportunities I plan to expand on and use to create an immersive and visually striking exhibition. Thank you so much for your support and I invite you all to see the exhibition next fall.
