Help fund Michele's cancer treatments
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Jay Wegter and I am raising funds to help cover the cost of cancer treatments for my wife, Michele. My loving wife of 35 years was diagnosed with breast cancer five years ago. And, because of her medical history, she faces some unique challenges. 34 years ago, Michele went through extensive surgery and radiation for Hodgkins Lymphoma.
This has narrowed her options for treatment today. For the last five years she has been diligently exploring alternative treatments, and we believe that the Lord has led us to a very promising therapy that will be administered by physicians at a San Diego hospital.
Here is a description of this state of the art therapy. First, Michele will undergo embolization; a procedure which causes the malignant tumor to die by cutting off its blood supply. Second, Michele will have cryo-ablation, a procedure in which extreme cold is used to freeze the tumor. Third, she will begin a regimen of immunotherapy to help her body fight off the return of cancer. This protocol includes regular intravenous infusions of immune-building substances such as vitamin C. For more information on embolization and cryo-ablation you may visit: https://drstrykermd.com/
Here are the costs for Michele’s life-saving cancer treatments: the cost for the two procedures (embolization and cryo-ablation) is $22,600. Immunotherapy for 6 months of intravenous vitamin C treatments will be $1400/month. We anticipate that the total for Michele’s treatments will be approximately $31,000. After we pay the high deductible, our most optimistic projection is that Michele’s medical insurance will pay up to 35% of the $31,000. Our ‘out of pocket’ responsibility will be approximately $20,150.
How you can help. We would be exceedingly grateful for donations of any amount. We are already encouraged to hear that an anonymous donor has agreed to match dollar for dollar for the first $10,000 raised. And your prayers for Michele are greatly treasured by the two of us. Gratefully yours in Christ, Jay and Michele Wegter.
