Help Fund My Artist Residency In France

Hello, my name is Paul, and I am a writer, a jewelry artist, and an oil painter of predominantly landscapes. Exactly One Year from now I will be embarking on a journey to France for an Artist & Writers Residency. Over the last year I have come to realize more than ever the briefness of life, the value of time, and the risk of missing out on opportunities to pursue passions and dreams. We live in a world that makes it easy to be restrained, and extremely difficult to untie the knots once they are tightened. I’ve made many decisions that have affected my life’s path for better or worse, and with each decision, I can only hope that trusting my gut will lead me in the right direction. I was trusting my gut when I applied to an Art Residency that only takes 20% of applicants, and I will trust my gut a year from now when I leave behind family, friends, and gainful employment to pursue my passion and the unknown rewards of experience. Not one to ask for help, admittedly, some help would indeed be appreciated. The Residency itself is mostly paid for, but the travel expenses; the canvas, oil paints, mediums, and brushes; the shipping expenses, and equipment needed so that I can fully document my trip - it will be an expensive adventure! While this Residency will act as a separation from society, I think it is only fair that if one of us gets out, we should share the story with the rest.
