Help support my dissertation animation film project! ✨
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Katie, and I am a final year Film and Theatre undergraduate. For my final dissertation, I am making a short animated film called ‘Fantoche and the Magic Paintbrush’. The film explores different types of animation, and aims to exemplify the universal power of visual storytelling that animation provides. It pays homage to several poignant moments throughout animation’s history, through Fantoche’s exciting journey into the different styles of animation to find some friends - and magic - along the way.
This is a very ambitious project, but I have a wonderful small team of volunteers supporting me, so hopefully we can create something amazing! I am hoping to raise some funds to be able to pay for various software subscriptions and art supplies for the stop motion elements of my film, as craft supplies aren’t cheap nowadays! If I raise enough, I would love to also be able to say thank you to my helpers somehow too.
I don’t have any funding support at this level, so any donation, however small, is so greatly appreciated. Every little pompom or cotton wool cloud makes a difference!
Why am I doing my dissertation on animation? Animation means a lot to me, and as I was growing up I never thought I could be an animator because I wasn’t the best at drawing. As I’ve got older I’ve realised that in art, ‘good’ is subjective, and that if I want to animate, then why shouldn’t I? So this is my first animated film, finally proving to myself that I can follow my dreams and just to go for it!
If you do donate, please leave your name and I will be sure to give you a special mention in the credits to thank you for your support.
I look forward to sharing my final project with you all! ✨
