Help fund my guinea pig's eye removal

Donation protected

I'm wanting to raise a bit of money to help with my guinea pig's eye removal. Little Bear and his now deceased brother Bruin were found abandoned in a fried chicken box in Texas in October 2020. I took in the pair from the person who found them that day since she didn't know what to do with them. I was going to surrender them but rescues were full, so I decided to keep them. Bruin had heart failure and had to be put to sleep in November 2020. Little Bear was so stressed from the loss that he started to have seizures until we adopted his new brother in December 2020. In February 2021, one day I saw Little Bear had a lot of eye discharge. Our trip to the vet (trip #1 for the eye) showed he had eyelid paralysis and a corneal ulcer. The vet said we needed to treat asap and give daily eye drops to lubricate his eye, otherwise it would need to be removed. In March (#2) we went to our regular vet for a follow up, where his eye looked better but still couldn't blink. He also developed nasal discharge/sneezing. In May 2021 (#3), we returned to our regular for another follow up because things hadn't improved. We were given more meds, and options of doing a bacteria culture, CT scan or eye removal. In July 2021 (#4), Little Bear's eye got noticeably worse over a couple of days. We went in for an emergency visit, and told that the best option since other treatment isn't working, is to remove the eye.

I have paid over $1500 to treat these 2 beautiful pigs who were left for dead by their previous owners. Bruin had numerous vet visits over a month, and then had to be euthanized. If these two hadn't been found, they would have died in a box from heatstroke. I gave Bruin the love and respect he deserved but never got from his old family. I want to do the same for Little Bear, and do right by him for as long as he has left. Little Bear has been to the vet 5 times since December 2020 (once to make sure he was okay before adopting his new brother, and then 4 times for his eye). Removing his eye will give him freedom from pain, and we will also be able to stop giving him eye drops and medication daily.

I am not asking for all the money to pay for his eye removal, but some in order to help. I do have Carecredit, but with student loans looming in the future, I am afraid of an inability to pay off both student loans and carecredit.
