Help fund "November," a film by Nick Lussier

Friends, family, supporters, and film fanatics:

After years of rumination and preparation, I have begun pre-production on the rounding-out of my undergraduate career at Syracuse University: my thesis film. Shooting in April of 2024, November is a short narrative drama that details the dark underbelly of forbidden love at a young age and the struggle for personal freedom against the conflicts of parenting. The film follows James Kelleher - an 18-year-old boy fresh out of high school - through his last summer at home. His search for autonomy and his ensuing actions eventually pit his love for the one truly personal aspect of his life against the indomitable will of his mother.

A concept that has been brewing in my mind since I stepped foot on campus as a freshman, November is far more than a film. It's a journey that uniquely examines and fuses the nostalgia of high school summers, the painful beauty of young love, and the tension of a child-parent relationship. Set in suburban Massachusetts, James's experiences spark a chain of events that develop an unbelievably real and raw story that has the power to move hearts and capture audiences, which has been my dream as a filmmaker for as long as I have been a part of the art.

This film was conceived as a cinematic rendition of authentic personal experiences, and hence it is my goal to execute my vision as faithfully as possible; being my thesis, November is distinctively important to me in that it caps off years of my work, development, and dedication in film and thus I want to achieve excellence in each facet of the film's creation. I constructed my budget so that each and every aspect of production will be able to serve the story and its success as effectively and efficiently as possible, and I want to give my cast and crew every reason to wholeheartedly commit their efforts to the project.

Giving life to the best possible version of this project, however, involves multiple expenditures, spanning from location permits and gear rental fees to wardrobe and post production. This is where I humbly ask for your support in funding November and making my vision a reality. Your contribution--in whatever capacity--will directly heighten the quality of production that the film's team will be able to achieve. These funds are what will enable the authenticity of the story to shine through in the film's final cut.

How You Can Help:

Donate: Your financial support contributes immediately to critical production expenses as well as elevates the quality of rentals and talent that the film will be able to afford.

Share: Sharing our fundraiser with your friends, family, and colleagues who might share any interest in funding this film or in independent filmmaking helps greatly.

Stay Tuned: Stay in the loop in with all things November via social media. Engagement beyond donation as the production moves forward massively aids the film.

I want to express my genuine appreciation for your time, consideration, and support as the film's team continues with pre-production efforts. Your help is what will make November a reality, and for that I cannot thank you enough.

With gratitude,

Nick Lussier
