A Little Bit About Us

Hey! Our names are Harry and Hunter and we are two queer filmmakers, studying in our final year at Screen and Film School Brighton. We share a connection in wanting to create an iconic chick flick film, reminiscent of feminine classics such as Clueless and Mean Girls yet with a contemporary twist. We believe its time to begin this mission and have the perfect film to make this happen with an incredibly talented crew who are equally buzzing for this project - a queer chick-flick called 'Don't Fuck With My Nose'.

Meet The Team:

Synopsis
Don't Fuck With My Nose is a vibrant romantic comedy with underlying themes of vanity, self discovery and the concept 'self care' vs self work. Centred around Melissa, a ‘Gen-Z Karen’ with a mission to sue a piercing store after an infection tragedy, we watch engaging "Fleabag"-style monologues and surreal, fantasy scenes of her paranoia. As the film rolls we see her layers unfold, revealing her painful past marked by an abusive relationship, the superficial friendships she's only ever known and her ongoing journey of queer self-discovery. Amidst the chaos, Melissa unexpectedly forms a connection with her Brighton Eats delivery driver, Alex, who sees deeper beneath the infection and fragile facade, symbolising the beginning of a healing (and QUEER ❤️) relationship.

Our Mission
We believe in our generation of non-stop social media and militant beauty standards, the pressure to know yourself and look perfect is more and more difficult for us to navigate and we really want to explore this relatable concept through a pink and humorous manner. With its blend of iconic chick flick imagery, witty humour, and a heartfelt exploration of queer identity and self-acceptance, "Don't Fuck With My Nose" is a genre-defying film that will leave audiences both laughing and moved by Melissa's journey.

Why We Need Your Help
So far, we have our final script, our talented crew and beautiful leading actors (also a real-life couple, meaning the chemistry is authentic and unmatched), but we really need your help. We have really big ambitions for this project, with the hopes to pitch this short film as a pilot for a limited series called 'A Little Bit Dramatic'. This will explore those relatable themes of fragile vanity, queer identity and relationships. We want to make this short film as beautiful and special as possible and we really need your help to make this come true, with financial support to pay our: cast, locations, costume, set design, marketing and film festival distribution.

The Impact
Most of Melissa’s idea’s come from unreliable sources and this is unfortunately something most of us can relate to. Her toxic thoughts come from a past toxic relationship and her support system can’t even hold themselves up. Melissa begins the film by telling us her story in a rehearsed way, she’s trying to create a film where everything is perfect and she is perceived as flawless however as the film rolls life gets in the way of her unrealistic expectations - forcing her to confront some uncomfortable truths. We truly believe this story is so important right now universally, with so many people effected by low self esteem and confidence it really raises the question of do I know what I need vs what I want?

THANK YOU <3
Thank you so much for taking the time and energy to read through this process of creating this magical short film, we really appreciate it and will be regularly updating this campaign to keep you all in the loop of the film's production.
