Help Fund Our Dancers' New Costumes and Tours!
Donation protected
We need costuming and scholarship help! American Footworks is a traditional American dance company that has been sharing love, friendship and respect throughout the world since 2011. We have danced our way through 12 summer tours and 30 international dance festivals. Our costumes have been there with us through it all... and countless hours of stage time have taken their toll on our favorites.
It's a sad day but the time has finally come for us to retire our classes red and white "tablecloth" costumes. They've lived a good life but they are 30 years old, so we are fundraising to have beautiful new hoe down costumes made at an estimated cost between $3,000-$4,000. We also need more chaps and have ordered 10 new swing dresses. Rather than pass these costs on to our current dancers, who work so hard to pay thousands of dollars each year for their own tours, we are asking family and friends of our beloved dance community to donate, if you can, to our new costume fund.
If we surpass our goal, any extra funds will be appropriated to reduce the cost of this year's tour, which currently stands at $3400 per person, for our dancers. Many of our dancers are struggling college students already, and one of them lost both of his parents to cancer in the last two years. If you feel so inclined, any help you can give them here or via Venmo (@Melinda-Larsen-1) would be so appreciated. You may stipulate how you'd like your donation used if you'd like.
Thank you for your support! We look forward to many more years of dancing in these new costumes with future generations of festival team kids.
