Help Fund Sara's Masters in Music
Hello!
As uncomfortable as I am finding writing this and asking for donations, it would mean I would be able to pursue my ambition of working as a professional opera singer.
I am raising money after being offered a place on the 2-year Master of Music Programme at Trinity Laban Conservatoire. Unfortunately, student finance covers less than half of the £11,840 per year course fees, let alone the costs of living in London! If I can raise £8,300 that would support me through my first year starting in September. Any donations would be greatly appreciated as even with saving now and working at weekends alongside the course, still won’t cover the remaining course fees and living costs.
I am a White-English and Pakistani soprano singer originally from Leicester and have lived in Leeds after graduating. Singing has been a signpost for me throughout difficult experiences and I feel I bring my learning from those experiences to my performing. I am also trained in Gestalt Counselling and in the future I hope to be supporting musicians and people from minority and disadvantaged backgrounds overcome barriers to follow their creative passions. I believe they can bring an authenticity and known experiences to the arts that can often be missing.
I will be performing a short online concert that will go live on the 10th April at 8pm. This will be available for a week. There will be subtitles, hopefully making it more inclusive for people that are new to opera ... so please attend if you can!

I hope to be doing more and fingers crossed they will be in person... if the virus…(Who Won't Be Named) behaves and rules permitting!
Again, thank you so much to taking the time to read and hope you can join me on the 10th!
Sara

Sara is passionate about expression, using art as a tool and that Opera is for everyone. She is passionate that opera can help some audience members go to a place, within them, that they perhaps are unable to reach outside of the theatre. She believes opera and classical music is a vessel for expression to be felt. She also hopes in the future to be supporting musicians and people from minority and disadvantaged backgrounds overcome barriers. She hopes this will encourage people from these backgrounds to explore their creative passions and express themselves more fully, as she believes people from those demographics can bring a different authenticity to art.
