Help Fund Sparky's Surgery and Treatment
Tax deductible
Sparky was born in Mar 2023 in a hoarding situation. Because of the conditions, we rescued his mom and the litter on day 2. Mom, Sparky and one other sibling were the only survivors. Sparky grew into an adorable kitten, and with his foster home, loved to pounce on his sister Sarah, nibble on fingers, and cuddle up with his humans for a nap.
At about 8 weeks of age, Sparky started to develop signs of an upper respiratory infection (URI). There were many vet visits and a full spectrum of medications given to Sparky but the URI symptoms persisted. Finally, in December last year, a visit to a specialist was arranged to explore the probable causes of Sparky's condition.
The specialist said that Sparky's condition was not contagious, but most likely had a defect in his nasal cavity, and he needs a CT scan of his head, a rhinoscopy (video scope in his nose), and probably a biopsy (sample of his tissue) and culture (test to find germs). They estimate
this could cost $4,500-5,500, and he may need more follow-on surgeries.
Although Sparky's behavior is normal outside the constant sneezing, coughing, and nasal discharge (similar to flu like conditions in humans), we suspect he is somewhat miserable (kinda like we feel with a cold or flu). In addition, his adoption prospects are minimized due to this outstanding health issue preventing him from finding a forever home where he can receive the constant love and attention he deserves so much.
So for Sparky's sake, we are motivated to clear this nasal condition but need help with the overall cost. Your donation toward the initial cost specified above is most appreciated.
