Help fund the future of our OHS Boys Volleyball

My name is Melissa Colon, I’m a parent to student athlete and an advocate to help a wonderful program thrive. Volleyball has played such a tremendous role in our home, for my son and family in the most positive ways. This sport has allowed new friendships, community connections, and it has taught my son to be open, responsible, help find passion, and become a leader. The connections these boys have made, the discipline there being taught, the way they show up ready to help each other, and the hard work they put in has shown them that it all pays off. These boys are not only teammates on the court but friends outside of it. It is amazing to see the impact this sport has made in just a few years that the program has made its way back to our school and community after being nonexistent for decades. It has been a breath of fresh air for our school as a whole to embrace the sport. Our school has limited resources and is unable to help with funds, hiring a JV coach which is a big piece of our program’s success, paying for uniforms, new equipment, covering the cost of warmups, and travel gear. All these things are needed to move the program further. When you look good, you feel good, and when you feel good, that energy exudes, and the outcome reflects on the court. I am looking for support to help grow the Boy's Volleyball program at Oceanside High School. Year after year, this program continues to surprise our community with so much potential. We Have made it to CIF all 3 years and were very close this past season to making it to the final. But being that the program is still so early in the development and process, we need outside help. We believe that we can build our program to become a title 1 program that not only supports these boys in sports but provides a positive culture where they have a chance at future opportunities. All of the support received here will be donated to Oceanside High school Boys Volleyball Program.
