'The Plague' is a student Debut show directed by Mariya Strashilova, written by Albert Camus, and adapted for stage by Neil Bartlett. It will be on in March 14-16 in the Samuel Beckett Theatre.

The Plague is a novel about the plague epidemic in the Algerian city Oran. Doctor Rieux is doing his best to save as much people as possible and to stop the random irrational force of the disease. He is joined by three other volunteers who are forced to rethink their lives during the epidemic and sacrifice their own wellbeing in the names of the dying strangers. In contrast to them, we can also see Cotard, a criminal, who embraces the plague as it makes people fear each other the same way they have feared him. The adaptation is done by Neil Bartlett and it explores how different people deal with a time of communal existential crisis.
