Help fund Thunderbean's "Mid Century Modern 3" Blu-ray

Hi. I'm Steve Stanchfield. I run a small company called Thunderbean. We're a small animation studio and Blu-ray label that releases mostly rare cartoons from the golden age of animation. Over the years we've restored and released hundreds of films, from lost stop-motion shorts to restoring entire series of cartoons, often from incredibly rare material from archives and collections all over the world. We've been lucky enough to work on quite a few things from the original negatives and master materials, and to help make so many of these films available to a wider audience.

Thunderbean is super small, but mighty in what it has been able to do- and we've managed over these past 20 years to make more rare animation available than any other source. As a boutique label it's been able to survive on small margins, keeping afloat though sales at the company's online shop and Amazon. The products we do are super-niche frequently. Making a profit hasn't been the motivating factor of the company, but rather finding ways to tackle restoration of rare films in the forgotten corners of animation history. I work full-time as an animation and animation history instructor at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, Michigan- and on things for Thunderbean daily, along with a group of dedicated freelancers who all love making these things available.

While we've produced a lot of Blu-ray sets over the years, sales haven't been stellar across the board over this period, and expenses to get new product done have been harder to come by. Last years, we finished the Blu-ray "Mid Century Modern 3", one of a series of sets of incredibly rare commercials, educational and entertainment shorts from the late 40s through the Mid-60s. It's a great little set, but we've been stuck trying to have enough funds to replicate the master and packaging.
