Bringing the Gospel to Utah – Help Us Continue This Bible-Believing Church!

Dear Brothers & Sisters in Christ,

My name is Tyler Decker, I am 26 years old and planting a bible believing church in Cedar City, UT. My wife and I have been married for 6 years and have 1 toddler boy with another boy on the way. My wife and I got saved off of Gene Kim's youtube in 2018 and after that we attended a bible believing church in Oregon for about 1 year. God called me to preach and pastor while attending this church in Oregon. Then, he called me to Pensacola Bible Institute in Florida and I graduated in 2023. God spoke to me about planting a church in Utah for the whole 3 years of school and called me to move to Cedar City Utah right after graduating PBI. My family and I left and arrived here in Utah July of 2023. Our mission has been to bring the light of the true Gospel to the religious state of Utah, a state desperately in need of biblical truth. As shocking as it may seem, there is no Bible-believing church in the entire state. This is a place where the majority of the population is influenced by oppressive practices, including polygamous LDS groups and mainstream Mormonism, leading to a spiritual void that is troubling. The impact of this spiritual darkness is seen in heartbreaking ways, one of which is an alarming rate of child suicide. It is apparent when evangelizing here that the churches in the area have gone into a cold state and are not reaching the lost. We are changing that by God’s grace!

2-3 years ago, while attending Pensacola Bible Institute (PBI) in Pensacola, FL, the Lord directed me while reading my Bible to Isaiah 41:17-20:

When the poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongue faileth for thirst, I the LORD will hear them, I the God of Israel will not forsake them. I will open rivers in high places, and fountains in the midst of the valleys: I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water. I will plant in the wilderness the cedar, the shittah tree, and the myrtle, and the oil tree; I will set in the desert the fir tree, and the pine, and the box tree together: That they may see, and know, and consider, and understand together, that the hand of the LORD hath done this, and the Holy One of Israel hath created it.

After considering Utah and its spiritual need, and after a survey trip to Utah in 2022, the Lord confirmed the calling to Cedar City, UT. After moving here in July of 2023, we started church services just two weeks after settling into town with a family of 7 that still comes faithfully to this day. My wife also began nursery work and does a children’s Bible lesson every week for the many kids.

We recently led a husband and wife to the Lord through door-knocking, and during street preaching, we met a family who had been desperately seeking Bible-believing truth. Both are excited about the Lord and also attend faithfully. These encounters are a testament to the hunger for the Gospel here.

Currently, we have a small but growing congregation of 12-13 members divided into 3 separate families, meeting every week in our garage. While the setting is humble, the fellowship is rich, and the Spirit of God is moving. We are seeking help to continue this growth and the support needed to keep going!

We have a few churches that are supporting us financially, but it is not enough to continue. We plan to use the money toward all church related expenses including tracts, children's ministry supplies, and our general expenses to be focused more on the ministry and reaching the lost.

Attached to this GoFundMe is my testimony which was delivered at the REAL Bible Believers Blowout to this mission field. We trust that God has a plan for this state and that He is calling His people to help make it happen.
