Help Erin Fund Volunteering in Ghana
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Erin Devine and I am a year 12 student who has been lucky enough to be selected along with nine others to volunteer in the Volta region of Ghana in summer 2025.
Whilst in Ghana, we will be helping the Little Roses School situated in a very poor region of the country where children are often sent to work alongside their families to bring much needed income rather than attending school. Little Roses aims to educate these young children to the best of their ability however, they unfortunately have very little in terms of furniture and stationary, let alone sporting equipment.
As both an academic and sporty person, I'll spend my time there trying to not only pass on my enthusiasm and knowledge of some of the subjects I'm currently studying, physics and maths, but I will also try to encourage the children, especially girls like myself, to get involved and enjoy as much sport as possible. Along with this, our group will also be working to build a new classroom for the school to improve their facilities and enable as many young children to achieve a quality education as possible.
Being apart of the third cohort who have had this incredible opportunity, I've heard so many stories of the wonderful impact we can have on the Ghanaian children and I cannot wait to make a positive difference to a less fortunate community.
Thanks so much for any donations you are able to make,
Erin
