Information on the ‘2041 Antarctic Expedition’ - 2021
The 2041 ClimateForce Antarctic Expedition equips individuals to become leaders by teaching them how to create actionable solutions and who in turn, become part of a global force of change.
Robert Swan started the renowned ‘Leadership-On-The-Edge’ (LOTE) program. This program consists of a blend of climate science training, interactive workshops and sustainable development education to help participants on their climate leadership journeys.
Participants of this program graduate as Ambassadors for the Antarctic. We are charged with making a stand in the fight against climate change, reinforced by the personal and professional network developed during and after the expedition.
Why Antarctica?
Currently Antarctica is being protected by a treaty prohibiting mining and drilling until the year 2041, hence the name given to the foundation ‘2041’. By that year, the fate of the last great wilderness will be at stake.
Robert Swan, the first man to walk to both the North and South poles was given a mission by the great Jacques Cousteau: To save Antarctica from the impact of Climate Change and engage young people to become ambassadors for its future.

What’s in it for me?
Gaining knowledge, leadership skills and witnessing the effects of global warming firsthand so that I can educate the community around me to be sustainable in all aspects of living. I was chosen along with other global citizens, and this opportunity beyond the classroom will help me progress in my future studies and career.
When would we be going?
This trip will be from the 17th to 28th of March, 2022. Ideally, my fundraising goal will be reached by the end of November.
