Help Gab Recover From Surgery & Get Out of Debt

Gab is a mixed race, white and black, transgender tattoo artist living with chronic illness in Philly, PA.

Since the start of the pandemic, Gab has been unable to work consistently due to quarantine, high risk of transmission, and high risk of complications as an overweight and chronically ill person. On top of Covid, he has been recently diagnosed with eczema after a flare up on his hands left them covered in painful, weeping, blisters due to extended periods of glove use.

Gab has racked up a large amount of credit card debt paying for living expenses the last few years. He is scheduled for his gender affirming surgery consultation on August 23rd. He plans to schedule surgery in December of 2022. He is also in weekly therapy that is not covered by insurance, totaling $720 a month out of pocket.

He is asking for funds to pay off his credit card debt before interest starts to accumulate in 2023 as well as fund living expenses while recovering from surgery at the end of the year.

Gab has been working closely with mutual aid projects, donating and selling his art to raise funds for other black, brown, queer, and trans folks who have been harmed by the city’s inadequate response to homelessness, unemployment, poverty, and police brutality.
