Help Gabe Sleep Safely

This is my beautiful son, Gabe.  He is a vibrant, loving 7-year-old boy with Non-Verbal Autism.  Although he cannot speak, he communicates in many different ways; such as speech devices, modified sign language, and gestures.  

I started this Go Fund Me Campaign to raise $4,000 for a medically needed Special Needs bed for Gabe. He suffers from severe and debilitating sleep difficulties. For many months Gabe has been unable to sleep through the night and unable to stay in his bed or bedroom.  He will wake up at 2 a.m. and not be able to fall back asleep; running throughout our home, passed child proof gates, raiding the kitchen, creating chaos.  I am extremely worried about the possibility of Gabe getting hurt or wandering from our home. I am up with Gabe every night and as a result of his lack of sleep, I don't sleep much either.  I am apprehensive
to even go to sleep in the short time he is sleeping, in fear he may wake up. This bed can ensure my peace of mind and Gabe some much needed sleep. I will be a better rested, clear minded parent. I have found him in very potentially-dangerous situations and realize the measures I have in place, and can provide, are not enough.  It is his safety that I am most concerned about.

I am a widowed, working mom and taking care of Gabe and keeping him safe is my top priority.  After much research, I found the best and only option to keep Gabe safe through the night, but of course, it isn't covered by my insurance. This campaign will allow me to raise the funds needed to purchase Gabe, this special medically needed bed. The bed is called the Safety Sleeper and you can check it out online:

The bed was designed by a mother whose son has Autism.  She too was looking for a safe place for her son to sleep through the night. This past year has included many doctor appointments with specialists and a variety of medications to help him sleep through the night. Unfortunately, his body seems to metabolize everything so quickly that nothing has helped.  We will continue to work with our medical team on the medicine side, but getting this bed now will keep him safe and help him get a better night’s rest.
