Help Gary Smith Heal

As many of you may or may not know, our good friend Gary has had a number of serious health issues of late. Over the past 1-2 years he has been hospitalized a number of times and his present condition requires daily and weekly medical related doctor and treatment visits and the mounting co-pays that go with those visits.
Needless to say, his health situation has severely curtailed his ability to work and earn a living. We all hope these set-backs are temporary, however his health status will not change for the foreseeable future. Due to his health issues, which have left him very immuno-compromised, Gary spends virtually all his time in his apartment and he has food delivered – the Pandemic has been tough on all of us, but for Gary, it poses a serious threat.
Many of us who are close to Gary have received numerous calls from friends and acquaintances asking about his health and if they can help in any way. It is never easy to admit you need help when you have always been a very independent person, however, the time has come when he needs our help, at least until he can return to a health status which allows him to get back to work and return to self-sufficiency.
A few of us have started this “Go Fund Me” effort to allow Gary’s friends to provide some help during his time of need. We need to look at this as a temporary assist until he can get back on his feet. He’s always the first person to step up or volunteer when his friends need him … now is when we can return the favor.
A big thank you to Gary’s sister Lori Reed for assisting in helping set this up and for managing the ongoing administration - she will be working closely with Gary over the coming months as he gets back to 100%.
