HELP GBR MEN GO FOR EURO MAXIBASKET MEDAL GLORY

PLEASE SUPPORT OUR GREAT BRITAIN MAXIBASKETBALLERS TO ACHIEVE THEIR MEDAL-WINNING AIM AT THE EUROPEAN CHAMPIONHIPS 2022.
Building on the medal-winning success at the FIMBA World Championships in Helsinki 2019, and now recognised as part of the Basketball England Talent Pathway, GB Maxibasketball is preparing its' teams to take on their international counterparts at the forthcoming 11th FIMBA European Maxibasketball Championships, which will take place from 24 June to 3 July 2022 in Malaga, Spain.
GB Maxibasketball (GB Maxis) is a nationally recognised high quality performance programme for basketballers aged 35+ years and over, seeking to extend their enjoyment of the game by competing against players of their own age and representing their country at elite level. Our players travel from all parts of the United Kingdom, such is their passion and commitment to achieve their goal to represent Great Britain.
Now here’s the thing: Maxibasketball receives no Government or Lottery funding, so participants are required to cover the costs of training, playing kit, facility hire, plus competition related expenses themselves. We recognise it’s quite a financial commitment to represent GB at this age level, pretty much coming in at £1,500-2,000k per person ahead of these Championships. This, plus the time spent away from young families and time off work, does present a very real barrier to inclusion for players and staff alike.
Our men's teams are preparing to compete at 35+, 40+, 45+ and 50+ levels in Malaga and we know that particularly during the Covid-19 pandemic, the GB Maxis programme has provided a positive focus for many. Each player has been working hard to ensure they are physically and mentally prepared for European competition, and we are setting our sights on a podium finish for Great Britain.
Your donation will help to ensure that every GB Maxiballers has an equal opportunity to represent Great Britain in Malaga this summer, irrespective of personal circumstances. You can make that vision become a reality for your family member, friend, club teammate, work colleague or business network member, as our ‘Olds Go For Gold’
We appreciate all support: We will recognise every single donation with a heartfelt ‘thank you’ on behalf of the GB Maxis. Thank you for visiting our page.
