Help Gene and Family Overcome Financial Struggles & illness

Hello, my name is Noah. I'm making this fundraiser to try to help out my aging family. My dad Gene, known to his family by his pre-born nickname "Butch," who is now 76 and was hospitalized a few months back, has unfortunately been diagnosed with Parkinson's, a terrible neurological disease that usually tends to come on later in life and leaves sufferers with shaking, muscle stiffness, difficulty with movements, and many other symptoms. It is also known to be closely linked to "early onset dementia," a disease that eats away at the brain, slowly over time making people forget small things, and progressing to forgetting big things, such as what day, month, or year it is, friends, family, and even self.

When my dad was hospitalized, he was there for about a week and a half, during which time he was unfortunately let go from his job driving delivery trucks. He had been a truck driver for a very long time, most of my 25 years alive. I remember him driving big tractor-trailers, working long nights, and driving from state to state to support a family of 5, including my two older half-brothers, my mother, and myself. As my mother has been disabled with multiple sclerosis (MS) and diabetes for most of my life, the household had depended on his income, as disability does not provide anywhere close to enough to pay for mortgage, utilities, food, and my mother's very costly insulin/MS medication.

Since my dad's unfortunate and heartbreaking diagnosis and the loss of his job, it's become increasingly clear that even with two streams of disability and myself helping pay more in bills than I can afford, it just unfortunately is not enough.

With my father's age and subsequent diseases, the stress of their financial situation is taking a huge toll on him. The once happy-go-lucky and confident man I have known my whole life has seemed to become unsure of most things, struggling every day to figure out how to pay bills. Even going so far as to forgo physical therapy for his conditions to have a little bit of extra money to put food on his family's plates.

My parents had applied for food stamps, which they were denied twice because their disability paychecks of roughly $3k a month were too much to qualify. They currently have roughly over $7,000 in debt from medical bills, multiple ambulance rides, utility bills that they could not afford, an $800 bill for their cellphones that have since been shut off, credit card debt from trying to pay stuff off, and a car they were leasing before my dad was let go from his job because of his hospital stay.

I don't know how much to expect out of this, if any at all. This is my last resort as we've exhausted all other options with little success. I just do not want to see the rest of my parents' life be filled with the stress of not being able to support themselves. My dad has been applying for jobs every other day at 76 years old, half of which he physically cannot handle doing, and the other half is not calling him back. Anything, no matter how small, would be a tremendous help. And if you can't donate to help out, sharing this campaign would be much appreciated.

Any funds graciously donated would go towards,
  • Getting my dad back into the physical therapy he had to stop going to about 3 months ago because he can't afford it.
  • Helping with their electric bill that they're $2000 in debt on.
  • My mother's life saving medication for MS/Diabetes
  • $1400 mortgage
  • $800 past due cellphone bill that is rapidly getting charged with late fees.
  • $850 car insurance bill that was put on hold at the end of October, forcing my father to risk getting pulled over just to go out and get applications.
  • Further treatment for his parkinsons disease
  • $400 water bill
  • $375 a month car payment that they are stuck with for the time being.
  • $3,523 to spectrum for phones that were stolen and sold to EcoATM
  • $3,850 to Bank of America credit card
  • $125 for ambulance rides ×3
But most important to me, is it will take a huge weight off my dad's shoulders, since he lost his job he has been getting more and more stressed, anxious, depressed and unsure of himself, this has caused his blood pressure to go high enough that his doctors have told him to goto the emergency room on 4 seperate occasions in just the last 5 weeks. My father has been my rock my entire life, I don't know what I would do without him. And every day I worry that the stress will be litteraly to much for his body and mind to handle.

If nothing else, I would like to thank you so much for reading this to the end. We appreciate it so much. May god bless you ❤️
