Help Genious Restore the MCMZ Safe Haven

Hi, my name is Rachel. During my recent visit in Zambia, I came across Genious Musokotwane, a Zambian multi-award winning girl's rights advocate. Genious runs Musokotwane Compassion Mission Zambia (MCMZ), a platform he uses to work with traditional leaders and others to end child marriage and violence against children.
Since 2008 at the founding of Musokotwane Compassion Mission Zambia (MCMZ), the organization has retrieved over 500 girls, providing them with temporary shelter, rehabilitation, and educational support.
Tragedy has struck our beloved friend and his team at Musokotwane Compassion Mission Zambia (MCMZ), who have been fighting to save the Centre from politically exposed individuals who have invaded the facility to run their own activities using the same facility. After some battles and engagements with their traditional leaders as the land was customary and not on leasehold land, Genious and his team have lost their Centre of Excellence on Ending Child Marriage, leaving over fifty (50) children that were on early childhood education support and feeding program now vulnerable to abject poverty and hunger as Zambia is currently fighting the effects of the 2023/24 farming season drought which has been declared a national disaster. This situation has also left survivors of child marriage in the district without any alternative space hence fueling an increase in sexual exploitation and child marriage.
Their previous property, which served as a safe haven and hub for their vital work, is gone. But their dedication to ending child marriage and empowering vulnerable communities remains unwavering.
We're turning to you, our supportive community, to join hands with me and help Genious and his team rise from the ashes and rebuild this vital safe haven as children are being sexually exploited and married off on daily basis and the vice may rise in the absence this facility and a safe space to advance advocacy by change makers. Your contribution will directly fuel the reconstruction of a new Centre at the recently acquired land on leasehold for 99 years, enabling them to:
- Provide a safe space for advocacy, education, and support services
- Amplify the voices of survivors and change-makers
- Advance research, policy change, and community engagement
- Enhance their agricultural sustainability initiatives for a sustainable Centre.
Every donation brings them closer to restoring their Centre at a new base and strengthening the fight against child marriage in Zambia. Let's rebuild together and create a brighter future for all in Choma, Zambia.
The funds will be used for the following:
1. Drilling a borehole
2. Conveyancing for a 99year leasehold for the new property
3. Fencing in order to secure the property.
4. Buying agricultural inputs for sustainability income generating activities.
5. Starting the construction of a girls safe house for survivors of child marriage and sexual exploitation.
