Help to modify our home after George's amputation
Donation protected
George developed a rare condition called Charcot syndrome in his left foot. Charcot syndrome is a rare complication of neuropathy that can cause inflammation of the foot as well as variable degrees of dislocation, fracture, and deformity. For the past 12 years his ankle has been permanently dislocated and he wore a custom-made black Crow boot for stability and has used a wheelchair to walk long distances. Unfortunately, over time his foot got worse and recently he developed an infection. This resulted in his hospitalization and amputation below the knee. As a result of the amputation, George is now in rehab and has a long road ahead. In addition, we will need to modify our home to adjust to his new disability. This involves installing a stairlift, converting our bathtub to just a shower, placing handrails and door ramps throughout the house, putting up a railing/ramp outside and anything else that will allow him to get in, around and out of the house better. I expect that George will be home in about 3 -4 weeks. I would like him to be able to get into our home and upstairs as easily as possible. Needless to say, all of these modifications are costly, so we have started a Go Fund Me fundraiser to help with expenses. If you could find it in your hearts to donate to helping us with these unexpected expenses, we would be forever grateful. We believe and are trusting God to work everything out. Thank you in advance for your support.
