Dear friends, family, and compassionate neighbors,

We are reaching out with heavy hearts on behalf of George and Mary Buck, beloved members of the Altadena community who have tragically lost everything in the devastating Eaton Fire. Their home was a complete loss, located at 957 Marcheta St.

George, a proud Vietnam Veteran, and Mary, a retired 1st grade school teacher and local artist, have called Altadena home for over 46 years. Their cozy house was not just a building—it was a haven filled with memories, love, and irreplaceable treasures. Now, at 84 and 78 years old, they are facing the unimaginable: the loss of their home, their belongings, and the stability they worked so hard to build over a lifetime.

Both George and Mary rely on walkers and live on a fixed income, making the road to recovery even more daunting. Despite their challenges, their resilience and enduring love for their community remain strong.

George spent decades serving his country and community, and Mary has touched countless lives with her creativity and kindness. Now, they need our help to recover their lives from the ashes.
