Help George Elia pay for his foot surgery
Donation protected
Hello, I'm Elie.
Many of you may have seen the video of George Elia, my 40-year-old grand-cousin, setting up a Christmas tree on the ruins of our bombed church in Derdghaya, Lebanon—a heartwarming moment that went viral last month. Unfortunately, on December 30, 2024, just days after, George’s life was drastically changed by a car accident.
While driving on the highway, his car broke down mid-drive, and he was struck by oncoming traffic after exiting the vehicle. The car crushed both of his legs and feet, resulting in multiple complex fractures in 10 bones and severe soft tissue damage. Due to the severity of his injuries, doctors had to amputate two toes, and his deep wounds need oxygen and vacuum therapy for healing. He will also need a skin transplant in a future surgery.
The costs of his medical care are rising. Hospital bills, doctor’s fees, medication, and physiotherapy are already amounting to $10,000, with more to come as George still needs to undergo surgery, long-term rehabilitation and physiotherapy.
I’m reaching out to ask for your support in helping to finance his medical care. I’m based in Austria, the funds raised will go directly to my bank account and will be used to cover his treatment and recovery expenses.
Please consider donating and sharing this campaign with others who might want to help. Any donation will have an important impact on George’s recovery journey.
Thank you for your kindness and support during this difficult time.
